When people talk of prayer it often evokes the idea of prayer being a religious act. But prayer and an innate desire to appeal to a higher benevolent force, has always been a fundamental aspect of human behaviour even if people don’t understand how prayer works. Prayer existed before the religions of mankind were created. Whether you call it “prayer” or something else, it is beyond the governance of any specific belief system and anyone can pray or appeal for help.
In its purest form prayer has nothing to do with religion. To understand the real purpose of prayer beyond those limits imposed by its use within religious ceremony, you have to first remember that you are part of something amazing. As already discussed in this book what you are part of is greater than what you are conscious of in your everyday life; you are a spiritual being, your soul come from much higher realms and is loving in nature. Within you is spirit which has the ability to realise its sacred nature.
Your soul knew this all before it came into this life to learn valuable lessons, and although in coming here you have temporarily forgotten how you are connected to the Spiritual Hierarchy your soul still remembers. This wisdom of your soul manifests as an innate, almost intuitive knowledge that drives you to seek spirituality, and to ask for “guidance from above“, and thus to pray or appeal for help, reconnecting you with those above.
For many people this innate drive and seeking of a higher truth leads them into religion, which on the surface offers some comfort and seems to satisfy their need to belong to something bigger. For others they had no real choice and were simply born into a culture which indoctrinated them into a particular religious belief system. Within religion the connection to that which is truly divine risks getting diluted and obscured in the ceremony, beliefs, and actions of being religious.
As a soul who is alive on Earth at this time, you have never been alone and as explained in the books and other articles you have been supported by your spiritual guide from when you were born and once you are 18 years of age then the spiritual guide is there to provide spiritual guidance if you ask for it. This spiritual guidance is available to you throughout your entire life, including right now as you read this.
This article was first channelled and published on 20th June 2018. As more information was channelled over the following years it was updated on 22nd March 2020 to reflect the additional information that was received.
Your spiritual guide like you is part of something even bigger. They are a part of the Spiritual Hierarchy, a loving collective of spiritual beings who include light beings and angels. Above your spiritual guide are the ascended masters and above them the higher beings including Jesus. Above all of them is God.
You too are more than just your mind, emotions and body, but for most people this awareness lies dormant. Those who practice meditation or who are naturally more spiritually awake may have awareness of their consciousness beyond their mind, emotions and body. But anyone can develop it with practice.
It is within the stillness of this higher awareness that you can become aware of spiritual guidance. But whether you have experienced this or not, and whether you believe it or not, it is always there. It is also from within the state of humility and stillness that you can pray and appeal for help.
But before you can fully understand what prayer is you first need to understand who or what it is that you are praying to or asking help of. There are two higher forces that you can request help and guidance from. One is your spiritual guide and the other is God. When you appeal to God then that is the true meaning of “prayer”. When you appeal to anyone or anything else, for example, guardian angels, the universe, or any idea of a benevolent force, it is the spiritual guide that receives the appeal and it is known as an “appeal” not “prayer”
You cannot pray or appeal for help from the angels, guardian angels, ascended masters, higher beings, universal consciousness, light beings or any other being, entity or thing. You can only appeal to your spiritual guide or to God. God has granted his son Jesus the ability to answer prayers too and a prayer to God is akin to a prayer to Jesus and vice versa. The ability to pray to God or his divine son is not a right rather it is a rare and sacred gift given by God to humanity to be appreciated with gratitude.
Your spiritual guide is there to assist you in realising the spiritual aspects of your life-lessons and evolving your soul vibration by developing your understanding and embracing of the Six Virtues with a goal to preparing you for your spiritual journey, which begins with initiation into the inner light and sound energy. Your spiritual guide has much greater understanding of reality than you but they are not all-knowing or all-powerful.
As a simple guideline,
a) if you have need for help or guidance on a matter concerning yourself or everyday life then you can appeal to your spiritual guide for help and guidance.
b) If however you are asking for help on behalf of another person(s) then pray to God.
c) If you are in need of higher help, a miracle, or life-changing intervention then pray to God.
The above is simple guidance but ultimately everything comes from God and is within God and so if in doubt then always pray to God. Of course you can pray to God any time and it does not have to be because you need something or there is a problem. Prayers can also be an expression of love, joy, devotion and gratitude. God’s love for you is beyond any limit and is unconditional. What matters is simply that your prayer is genuine and sincere so the question is, “how do you pray?” and this will be looked at shortly
Religions are based on a central figure or figures (messiah, prophet, saviour, guru, deity, etc.) and since they are not with us in person then those within a religious organisation try and represent them on earth. These worldly figureheads like the pope, imams, priests, gurus, preachers and so on are then regarded as “special” and above ordinary people like you.
Such religious leaders command authority and their man-made organisations encourage you to view them as empowered custodians of your connection back to the divine. In reality though these leaders have no spiritual authority or power because they do not have higher spiritual states of consciousness or the ability to reveal them to others. This does not detract from any positivity in their message or work, but they themselves should not be held in higher esteem than any other person, because of fictitious title or rank.
Often religions provide prescribed fixed words to pray with. You are encouraged to confess your sins to your religious leaders and ask them for forgiveness. Any questions you have about your higher spiritual nature of your soul are directed to a book written by other people, or to your religious leader rather than them guiding you to find out directly through yourself (in meditation).
By these actions religion places another person in between you and spiritual truth. Religious prayer sometimes becomes the reciting of another persons ideas, and spiritual communication is reduced to “pass the message on”, for example in confessions. Within the ritual or habit of religion you risk becoming detached from your connection to your spiritual guide and the Spiritual Hierarchy.
The appealing to any deceased prophet, saviour, guru or spiritual master, no matter how inspiring or spiritually awake they were in their lifetime means your appeals are directed at them and you are distracted from communicating with your actual spiritual guide. That historical person, in their passing, may well have ascended into the Spiritual Hierarchy, but their role will not be to gather your appeals and prayers and to handle your personal requests, with the exception of Jesus who as described above can answer prayers.
Some of the past spiritual teachers do watch over humanity, but unless your vibration is extremely high and you are already working with the Spiritual Hierarchy then they would not directly hear you. But your spiritual guide is there waiting for you to call on them with your desires and requests for help and guidance, that is their vocation.
We can learn from the example of past spiritual leaders and it is useful to understand that for example Jesus was not a Christian, he was spiritual. Such inspiring teachers were spiritual and they communicated with and were guided by the Spiritual Hierarchy. They also knew the truth of God and it is this example that you are being reminded to follow.
It is true that of all of them Jesus was unique with a divine soul and spirit and so he was fully aware of and in direct contact with God from the moment he was born on Earth. This was because a part of his purpose was to bring awareness of God and love to humanity and so when Jesus wanted guidance or help he went directly to the Source, he “prayed” and spoke with God. Although you cannot speak in a two way conversation with God, you have the same potential to pray to God directly.
The lords prayer was given to Jesus by God, when he was a young child to teach him how to pray. On the left you see the Lords Prayer as it is known and on the right you see a spiritual translation.
Religious Version: The Lords Prayer
The Spiritual Understanding
I will follow your guidance in life on the 3rd dimension:
This gift of life you are living has specific life-lessons so that your soul can evolve. Your spiritual guide, conscience, soul and spirit are all guiding you to learn and raise your frequency becoming more aligned with Love. It is God’s will that humanity evolve towards love.
Living the Six Virtues, aligned with Love:
As described elsewhere in this book there are six qualities or virtues of character which help you to become more aligned with love, they are humility, gratitude, respect, non-judgement, compassion and unconditional love. This is ultimately what it means to live as God intends.
Allow to manifest what we need to live our lives:
All manifestation happens through the Spiritual Hierarchy, with your spiritual guide’s support.
Prayer or appealing is how you can send a message to God, Jesus or your spiritual guide. It is important in your development during your life, empowering you to ask for help, to seek guidance, and to voice your desires for what you wish to manifest. The “Cosmic Law of Neutrality”, which respects the sanctity of your “free will” means that if you do not ask for assistance, guidance or help then those above cannot offer it. If you do not ask, you will never get, so ask!
The process of “praying” or “appealing” is the same and involves consciously placing yourself into a state of humility, neutrality, and gratitude, aligning with love and letting go of your ego. From within this stillness you can then “send a message” for example, asking for guidance, healing, a miracle. Understanding how important spiritual prayer and appeals are we offer the following guidance:
The “connection” between you and those above is not in your mind, and does not respond to the will of your personality or ego. Clarity comes from stillness, humility, neutrality, and from love. Before you pray allow the qualities of the Six Virtues of Humility, Gratitude, Respect, Non-Judgement, Compassion and Unconditional Love, to grow within you. Demonstrate each virtue towards whoever it is that you are directing your attention, be it God or your spiritual guide. This also helps you to become more receptive to any guidance you will receive. Remember though it is not meant to be a two-way conversation.
If you are praying then have God in your heart and mind. If you are appealing for help or spiritual guidance then make it clear you are intending your request goes to the spiritual guide of the Spiritual Hierarchy. Invoke their name at the start such as “I pray to you dear God” or “dear spiritual guide of the Spiritual Hierarchy”
By setting this intention then your prayer or appeal for help is directed at them. Intention is very powerful and in this way it is similar to making sure you have dialled the right number before making a phone call.
When asking for a change in situation it is best to avoid being fixed on the outcome and how it should manifest. For example, if you are praying for more financial security for you and your family. Avoid telling God how you want this to be achieved, such as “I pray for a promotion” or “I pray I win the lottery“.
You have no real idea how the infinite universe may bring you the wealth you need. So praying for things to happen a certain way is imposing limits on how they can happen. Instead you could pray “I pray that the money I need comes to me so that I can have more financial security“. Let those above work out the details. This is one reason humility is of vital importance, because it is ego which seeks to control manifestation, while your soul simply trusts higher intelligence and lets things happen. The ego presents limits and blocks, the soul is open to help and lets love flow freely. Trust God and the Spiritual Hierarchy, after all they are why you are here.
Every person is on their own soul journey and will learn from their own triumphs and mistakes. You cannot protect people from duality or decide what is best for anyone else, only yourself (and your children up to the age of 18). Although it may have its roots in compassion and caring, you cannot make people do what you think is best. Do not pray for this. For example, you cannot pray that someone likes you; that someone stops doing something because you do not like it; or that someone else has misfortune so that you can benefit.
In situations where there is a conflict of interests you can pray for change towards the greater good. For example if you are being bullied, you cannot pray that the bully comes to harm. But you could pray that “the situation is resolved for the greater good of all concerned”. You do not know what lessons the other person has to learn but since you are all connected then where one suffers you all suffer. It is not love to wish harm or suffering on another, as to do so is to wish it upon yourself.
The Six Virtues create a stillness within which you can connect with and embody love. True love simply accepts and does not need anything to change, which is why it is “unconditional“. Life as you know it in the 3rd dimension is meant to be enjoyed, explored and fun. There is nothing wrong with asking for things to manifest, as this is part of the process of learning life lessons. You cannot learn from something if you do not first experience it. Every request you send to your spiritual guide or higher is received with neutrality and love. What you can manifest is determined by the resonance of your own vibration and alignment with your life-plan.
Not everyone is meant to experience material wealth for example, but where one person has life-lessons in the material world, another may have life-lessons in loss, or love, or freedom, or giving. There is no judgement, it is your purpose to notice what you enjoy and are drawn towards and to ask of the universe for it. This includes for events, experiences, emotions, as well as physical things.
But do not become attached to the things you seek, for you do not truly know what would serve you best. Ask and then “let go“, allow your spiritual guide and the Spiritual Hierarchy to deliver to you that which would serve you best. For example if you notice that you like the way a person makes you feel, the nature of the mind and emotions is to then become attached to that person, to the point where you convince yourself that they are the only one that could make you happy. It becomes about them and you lose the fact that it was because of how they made you feel.
Where the fool might pray to make that person theirs, the wise person would pray to have someone in their life with whom they could feel all those things and more. The fool would waste a lifetime hoping that one person wants them, whereas the wise person, having asked, lets go of their attachment to the person they first desired so that the universe can then deliver to them a person of even greater compatibility and synergy (or the person they desire, if it is meant to be).
You know what you like but you do not always recognise what is good for you. Ask for what you like but do not be attached to how you get it. As the saying goes: “Let go and let God“.
Every event in your life creates ripples and these ripples affect all other things in your life. The path you weave is delicate and your spiritual guide is there to guide you on spiritual matters, if only you would ask for it. They see a bigger picture and working as part of the collective whole, they understand better how your thread is woven into the fabric of all lives.
When you pray for something, respect that timing is everything. You may want three things in your life and you may think you need them in a certain order and at specific times, but the universe wants what is best for you. So it may be that the order you get them is not what you expect; the timing not what you desire. If you try to enforce the timing of things then you are not respecting the balance and interplay of all that moves within duality.
Respect that if you are meant to have something in your life and you pray for it, that the timing will be chosen for the greatest good of all concerned and for the highest possible outcome. But do pray and do ask. If you do not ask, you cannot get.
Many people have misunderstood what being spiritual means. They feel that it is wrong to ask for help or to ask to have their lives enriched by events, other people, or worldly things. This stems from the idea that the world is here to trip you up, to distract you. While this is true for people who are asleep, if you are awake, practicing The Six Virtues, seeking out and walking your spiritual journey, and consciously striving to develop your soul towards love then the world is your playground within which you can learn about love.
All things come from The Source, God, whose love is unconditional, and everything, and every moment is a chance to learn more about that love. To not ask is to deny your spiritual guide and the Spiritual Hierarchy the chance to teach you how all manifestation comes from love and that you truly are worthy of being loved and receiving love. To not pray is to ignore your father who loves you dearly and just wants you to find joy. Let love flow freely, listen to and pray for your hearts desires, and then let them go.
If you are practiced in humility, gratitude, respect, non-judgement, compassion and unconditional love then your requests will naturally be aligned with what your soul needs to evolve and love can flow to you in the form of that which manifests.
When you pray (and appeal for help) you create a thought about what you desire. If your prayer is sincere, genuine and comes from a place of humility, free of ego then it will be full of positive desire and will have a high vibration. If your prayer is based on your ego, selfishness or negative intentions then the resulting thought will be very low in energy.
Once you have finished praying your “prayer” which is a thought form, moves up to the dimension that has the same vibration as it. If several people have the same prayer or general intention then the energy of each individual prayer is combined and the vibration of the prayer can be raised up higher than that of the individual prayers.
Prayers that are not sincere or heartfelt will lack the energy and vibration to get much higher than the 4th dimension. On each dimension there is a pool of prayers where all the prayers gather. It is only the prayers that are very sincere and full of heartfelt desire that make it up to the 8th dimension. Once on the 8th dimension then God and Jesus can become aware of them and they can be answered. A simple way of summing this up is that prayers that lack sincerity and humility cannot be heard as they will not reach those that are intended. It is for this reason that we have given such detailed guidance above on how to pray.
Imagine waking up tomorrow and there was no more religion. For many it would be a time of crisis, some people would feel lost. But prayer belongs to you and not religion, and you would have the ability to seek guidance directly from God, just as you have right now. Why would you seek answers from other people, when you have the gift of prayer to ask questions of your spiritual guide and God directly? Why would you confess to your religious leaders and ask them for forgiveness when you could ask the “Lord in heaven” for forgiveness directly? Only God can forgive.
Religion has always been the call to give away your power and “trust in someone else“, whereas spiritual maturity is self-empowering by allowing you to “trust in your own direct experiences“.
Prayer allows you to communicate with God and the spiritual journey allows you to connect with that which is divine. There is no need then for the religions of man in the life of one who has awoken. Seek the truth and find The Way Back.
